Our Key Verse
Matthew 22:36-38
“And the teacher asked him, Master, “ What is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” Jesus Replied, The first is this. You shall love the Lord your God with all your Heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. The second is this. You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
God is at Work in the World and Calls us to be too!
The overall theme for Camp Hope 2007 is, “Acting Out”. This theme is shaped both by the image of the theater and the reality that we are God’s children “Acting Out” or living out our faith. It is God who is the central actor in the life of God’s people. Even when the people of faith are daily working out the business of loving neighbor as self, it is God who is at work in and through God’s people.
Worship is a way of life!
The central emphasis for this years curriculum is worship. It is our hope that this theme for Camp Hope, using our key verse will broaden and explore the role of worship in the life of both the community and the people of faith. Worship is about our relationship with God, and it is also about our relationship with others. Worship is about our whole being. It is experiential in that it is about our experience with the Holy, and it involves our complete selves.
While it is true that teachers may discourage it in their classrooms, with good reason, we believe that people of faith are called to “Act Out” each and every day. We “Act Out” our love for God in the communities worship life and we “Act out” God’s love for the world in daily life, both key facets of worship.
We'll be posting the daily themes and scriptures shortly.
Thanks Kristin for getting this stuff up!!
It looks great! I really like the theme this year!
